Understanding Tokens

What is a Token? It is the basic unit of work.

  • Text: ~1 token = 4 characters (0.75 words).
  • Voice: Costs are calculated based on duration and complexity (speech-to-text & text-to-speech). A typical voice minute consumes approx. 300 tokens.

Token consumption examples

  • Sending a personalized follow-up email: ~50-100 tokens
  • Qualifying a new lead from a web form: ~150-300 tokens
  • A 2-minute appointment confirmation call: ~400-600 tokens
  • Transcribing and summarizing a 10-minute audio clip: ~1,500-2,000 tokens
