Messaging Candidates¶
Connect with candidates directly through the 4Geeks Talent platform. Send messages to express interest, schedule interviews, and manage your hiring conversations in one place.
Sending a Message¶
- Browse candidates using Advanced Filtering or search by name
- Click on a candidate to view their profile
- Click Send Message on the candidate’s profile card
- Compose your message:
- Subject — Brief topic line (e.g., “Senior Developer Opportunity”)
- Body — Your message content
- Click Send
The candidate receives a notification and can respond through the platform.
Conversation Thread¶
All messages with a candidate are organized in a threaded conversation:
- Chronological order — Messages are displayed newest first
- Read receipts — See when candidates have read your messages
- Reply — Continue the conversation from the thread
Message Best Practices¶
Personalize Your Outreach¶
Reference specific details from the candidate’s profile:
- Mention their video introduction
- Call out relevant experience or skills
- Explain why they’re a good fit for the role
Be Transparent¶
- Include the company name and role upfront
- Share salary range or compensation details
- Describe the work arrangement (remote, hybrid, on-site)
Keep It Concise¶
Candidates receive multiple messages. Stand out by being:
- Direct about the opportunity
- Clear about next steps
- Respectful of their time
Include a Clear CTA¶
End your message with a specific call to action:
- “Would you be available for a 15-minute call this week?”
- “Can you share your availability for a technical interview?”
- “Please let me know if you’d like to learn more.”

Access your message inbox from the Talent dashboard to see all active conversations with candidates.
Conversation Status¶
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Ongoing conversation with recent messages |
| Waiting | Awaiting candidate response |
| Closed | Conversation ended (candidate not interested or hired) |
Integration with ATS¶
Messages sent through Talent are linked to the candidate’s record in the ATS:
- Conversation history is preserved
- Messages can be shared with team members
- Candidate status updates are reflected in the conversation
