Products catalog¶

A product is the reusable item behind everything you sell: a SaaS plan, a physical good, a service, or a one-off offer. Define it once, then connect it to payment links, subscription plans, or checkout sessions instead of repeating the same details on every charge.

What is a product?¶

A product stores the name, description, and active status of something you sell. Plans and payment links reference the product instead of duplicating its information.

One source of truth — update the product once and reuse it everywhere.
Cleaner reporting — group revenue by product instead of by individual charge.
Faster setup — create a plan or a payment link without retyping the offer.

Dashboard availability

The catalog is available through the API today. The console view is being rolled out by workspace. If you do not see Payments → Products yet, use the API or contact support to enable it.

Create a product¶

The response returns the product id, which you can use when creating a plan or a payment link.

Open the 4Geeks Console.
Go to Payments → Products.
Select New product.
Enter a name and an optional description.
Save the product and copy its ID.

Manage your catalog¶

List products with GET /v1/products and paginate with limit and offset.
Deactivate a product instead of deleting it when you want to keep historical reporting intact.
Keep names stable — they appear in checkout, receipts, and reports.

FAQ¶

Can I change a product after creating a plan?

Yes. The product name and description can be updated. Pricing lives on the plan, so changing the plan amount does not require a new product.

Do payment links require a product?

No. Payment Links can be created with a description and an amount only. Products are recommended when you want a reusable catalog and consistent reporting.

What happens if I deactivate a product?

Existing plans and links keep their history, but new checkouts should use an active product.
