Work Shifts¶
The Work Shifts module (Operations → Work Shifts) manages schedules and labor-rule compliance. It has five tabs: Shifts, Assignments, Compliance, Night Differential and Rules.
Shift data feeds directly into time tracking: the scheduled shift boundaries determine how attendance hours split into regular and overtime.
Shifts¶
Create a shift¶
- Go to Work Shifts → Shifts and click New shift.
- Fill in:

The directory lists shifts with search and a type filter (All, Fixed, Rotating), showing times, break, type and status.
Assignments¶
The Assignments tab assigns employees to a shift.
- Select a shift (only active shifts), a start date and an optional end date.
- Move employees from Available to Assigned using the arrows.
- Click Assign.
You can Remove assignments or use Change shift on a row to move someone to a different shift.
Assignments are validated
Before saving, each assignment is checked against the employee’s country rules. If any rule is violated, the batch is rejected and the violations are shown. Fix the schedule and try again.
Compliance¶
The Compliance tab summarizes how your assignments compare to local labor law.
- Summary cards: Total, Compliant, Warnings, Violations, Compliance Rate.
- A list of configured countries.
- Load All Country Presets seeds the rules for all 12 preset countries.
- A table of assignments needing attention with the specific rule violated.

Night differentials¶
The Night Differential tab configures the extra percentage paid for night work, per country.

You can add or edit differentials (country, name, rate, threshold hours, applies to).
Where night pay is applied
Night premiums are reflected inside the overtime engine when overtime falls in a night window. Regular-hour night differentials are configured here for compliance reference.
Rules¶
The Rules tab lets you view and edit the underlying compliance rules per country (maximum hours, rest periods, surcharges), so you can adjust them to your local requirements.
