The Dashboard¶
Once you log in, the Dashboard gives you a bird’s-eye view of your job search progress.
- Profile Status Bar: Shows how close you are to having a “recruiter-ready” profile. Aim for 100%!
- Quick Actions: Use the sidebar to quickly Update your CV, Edit your Bio, or use the Public View to see exactly what a hiring manager sees.
- Technical Expertise: This is where your verified skills live. Pro tip: Take the platform assessments to earn a red badge, which tells recruiters you truly know your stuff.
Setting Up Your Profile¶
A complete profile is your digital handshake. Here is how to make it count:
Personal Details & Bio¶
- Professional Summary: Don’t just list jobs; tell your story. Mention your years of experience and your primary tech stack (e.g., “Salesforce, Java, and PHP expert”).
- Intro Video: This is your chance to show your personality. Record a short clip (even 5-10 seconds) introducing yourself. It makes your profile feel human and memorable.
- Portfolio Link: Make sure to include your GitHub, personal site, or Behance so employers can see your code in action.
Work Preferences (Getting the Right Match)¶
We use AI to match you with jobs, so accuracy here is key:
- Languages: Add every language you speak and use the slider to set your level (1–10).
- Expected Salary: Be clear about your requirements in USD.
- Modality: Let us know if you want to be a full-time employee, a freelancer, or if you’re open to both.
- Relocation & Remote: Use the toggles to tell us if you’re a “remote-only” pro or if you’re ready for a new adventure in a different city.
Work Experience & Education¶
- Context Matters: When adding a job, don’t just write a description. Tag up to 5 Learned Skills for each role. This shows how you used a technology in a real-world environment.
- Education: List your degrees and certifications (like Scrum or AWS) to build extra credibility.
Public View¶
When a recruiter clicks on your profile, they see a polished, professional resume:
- Top Skills Cloud: Our system automatically highlights your strongest technologies based on your experience.
- Verified Badges: Your assessments prove your talent before the first interview.
- Privacy First: Your contact details are protected. Recruiters must be verified and subscribed to the 4Geeks network to reach out to you directly.
